Then another stepper motor moves the saw down. A DC motor moves the saw forward and backward. The stepper motor slowly moves down, so that the required slot depth is reached. Mensur and slot depth can be set in the program. An ultrasound sensor allows to position the saw exactly at the fretboard surface.
